Knappstein Enterprise Winery

Knappstein Enterprise Winery

Brewery

The Enterprise Brewery began brewing in 1878 following a copper mining boom, which brought thirsty miners to the region. However, after a change in trading hours and a slowing of copper, the miners left Clare, forcing the brewery to close. In 1969, Winemaker Tim Knappstein established a winery at the original heritage listed Enterprise Brewery building. The first wines were produced in 1974 under the Knappstein Enterprise Winery label. In 2006, Knappstein opened a full microbrewery onsite with the release of the Knappstein Reserve Lager. Crafted by both winemaker and brewer, the Reserve Lager uses the finest ingredients and aromatic sauvin hops. Today, Knappstein continues to tell the story of well crafted wines and beer.
