The Burra Vintage and Antique Fair – for all things Retro, Rustic and Rare

The Burra Vintage and Antique Fair is back for 2018 on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of May.  With a focus this year on all things retro and rustic, Burra will play host to dealers from across South Australia and Victoria and with more stalls than ever before, there will definitely be something for everyone. With stallholders offering everything from dolls, jewellery, glassware, toys, rustic treasures and fine porcelain you may need to stay the whole weekend to take it all in.

Dealers will be located in the Town Hall and School Gym. Entry is $8, and children under 16 are free when accompanied by an adult.

Or perhaps the Whole of Town Garage Sale on the Saturday, or the Trash and Treasure Auction at the Burra Golf Club on Sunday morning, will help you find the treasures you’re looking for.

There are many other fantastic things to see and do while you’re at the Fair including market stalls and buskers in Market Square, a display by the Whyalla Vintage and Classic Car Club and the Gawler Car Club on the school oval, art exhibitions and some wonderful shops to peruse.

Television and radio personality Amanda Blair will be opening the Fair at 11am on Saturday and is bringing Australia’s first Op Shop Bus to Burra.  “Dulcie's Shop of Real Opportunity” doesn't have a permanent 'car park' - instead it travels around to be a part of events and festivals throughout the year. Full of vintage delights, her wares go straight towards helping Adelaide's homeless and marginalised. Shopping never felt so good.

When you’ve finished looking at the antiques and collectables you can stop in for a fabulous meal or coffee and any one of the excellent restaurants, cafes and hotels. Or take a look around the historic Market Square shops, visit the antique shops in Burra North or get your Burra Heritage Passport from the Burra and Goyder Visitor Information Centre (open 9-5 Saturday and 9-4 Sunday during the Fair).

The beautifully renovated historic Burra Railway Station will be open over the weekend and while you’re in Burra North can also visit the Bon Accord Museum (open from 10am to 4pm both days). The Burra Regional Art Gallery is another must see and offers a great array of contemporary and fine art. The Anne Frank exhibition, ‘Let Me Be Myself”, will be on display during the Fair.

For a weekend full of treasures, bargains and entertainment visit historic Burra where the past meets the future, and enjoy all the fun of the Fair.
