When visiting the Clare Valley, make sure you include an afternoon spent on the famous Skillogalee veranda enjoying delicious food, outstanding wines and the most picturesque views in the valley in a relaxed setting! Skillogalee is the first winery-restaurant established in the Clare Valley is still the most iconic restaurant to visit. Based in a 160-year old miner’s cottage, rich in character and ambience the restaurant is perfect all year round for your romantic getaways, celebrating special occasions or just to enjoy a relaxing lunch out. The kitchen aims to showcase the best local produce in wholesome, interesting dishes and sees menu changes to reflect seasonality of produce.

In the summer months enjoy the warm weather under the shade of the famous olive tree or in the warmer months take up a seat next to the cosy and original open fires. This place can be a hub of excitement so best to ring ahead and secure your table, lunches are served 12pm til 3.30pm. Bookings of all sizes are welcome and evening functions can be arranged by request.

While you are waiting for your meal to be prepared by the kitchen, head through to the cellar door and sample the wines before you make a selection for lunch. All our dishes have wine pairing suggestions in the menu to help you decide on a vino for your lunch.

Skillogalee Restaurant also offers a morning and afternoon tea menu which features the favourite scones served with jam and cream, along with other lighter options to enjoy with our delicious coffees and teas. Come and enjoy the views from our veranda whilst tucking into a cheese plate and a glass of wine.
