Mitchell Winery was established in 1975 by Jane and Andrew Mitchell. As a young and ambitious couple, they set out to create exceptional quality wines under the Mitchells label. Today, the entire range of Mitchell Wines receives multiple accolades every year. The winery and cellar door is located in the picturesque Spring Gully Valley near Sevenhill. The winery was built around an old sandstone apple store, and still has the imposing century-old cast iron gates, which have become the icon to the wine brand. The philosophy of quality winemaking remains strong, with the next generation of the Mitchell family, Angus and Edwina, helping to shape a new direction into the future.
