The Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend was one of the first food and wine events of its kind in Australia. Held in May every year, the festival is a celebration of the region’s award winning wines, local food and country hospitality. More than 25 wineries participate in the event, with numerous special events and degustation dinners. The program also features gourmet markets, a gourmet hub and an art exhibition. The event was originally created to commemorate and sample the wines at the end of vintage each year. In 2014, the Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend celebrated 30 years, making it the oldest food and wine event in Australia.
